(2599) Veselí ( 1980 SO ; 1934 GE ; 1964 TG ; 1964 VA ; A918 FC ) is an approximately 13 kilometers large asteroid of the central main belt , which was discovered on September 29, 1980 by the Czech (then: Czechoslovak ) astronomer Zdeňka Vávrová am Kleť -Observatory on the Kleť near Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic ( IAU code 046).

(2599) Veselí was named after the town of Veselí nad Lužnicí , where the explorer Zdeňka Vávrová lived.
