(261690) Jodorowsky is an asteroid of the main outer belt discovered by the French computer scientist and amateur astronomer Jean-Claude Merlin on December 24, 2005 at the fully automatic Ritchey-Chrétien 81 cm telescope of the Tenagra II Observatory in Nogales , Arizona ( IAU code 926 ) has been discovered. The telescope was able to head for Merlin from France when it was discovered.
The asteroid was named on July 22, 2013 after the Chilean- French film director , playwright and comic book writer Alejandro Jodorowsky .
