(2767) Takenouchi ( 1967 UM ; 1956 VA ; 1980 GQ ; 1982 RT ) is an approximately 14 kilometers large asteroid of the outer main belt , which was discovered on October 30, 1967 by the Czech (then: Czechoslovakia ) astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Hamburg observatory in Hamburg -Bergedorf ( IAU code 029) was discovered. It belongs to the Eos family , a group of asteroids named after (221) Eos .
designation
(2767) Takenouchi was named after the Japanese astronomer Tadao Takenouchi (* 1922) who worked at the Department of Astronomy at the University of Tokyo , at the former Tokyo Astronomical Observatory (IAU code 389) and the Japanese space organizations National Space Development Agency and Institute of Space and Astronautical Science . In the 1950s he worked with the astronomer Hideo Hirose , after whom the asteroid (1612) Hirose is named. He studied the orbit of the asteroid (279) Thule .
