(2771) Polzunov ( 1978 SP 7 ; 1943 TG ; 1981 EK 6 ; 1982 NB ) is an asteroid about eleven kilometers in size of the central main belt , which was discovered on September 26, 1978 by the Ukrainian (then: Soviet Union ) astronomer Lyudmyla Shuravlowa in the Crimea. Observatory (Nautschnyj branch) on the Crimean peninsula ( IAU code 095) was discovered.

designation

(2771) Polzunov was named after Iwan Iwanowitsch Polsunow (1728–1766) from the Russian Empire . He invented the first steam engine in what is now Russia and the first two-cylinder engine in the world.
