(2814) Vieira ( 1982 FA 3 ; 1969 RK 2 ; 1977 FA 1 ; 1979 SE 11 ; 1979 TD 2 ; 1982 HV 2 ) is an approximately ten kilometer asteroid of the outer main belt that was discovered on March 18, 1982 by the Belgian astronomer Henri Debehogne at the La Silla Observatory on which La Silla in La Higuera in Chile ( IAU code 809) was discovered. It belongs to the Koronis family , a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis .

designation

(2814) Vieira was named after the astronomer Gilson Vieira , who worked at the Valongo Observatory and was a professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro .
