(2861) Lambrecht ( 1981 VL 2 ; 1938 SQ ; 1952 DA 3 ; 1958 XH ; 1971 DW 1 ; 1977 RV 5 ; A921 GD ) is an approximately 17-kilometer asteroid of the inner main belt that was destroyed on November 3, 1981 by the German (then: Federal Republic of Germany ) astronomers Freimut Börngen and Karsten Kirsch at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg in the Tautenburg Forest in Thuringia ( IAU code 033).

designation

(2861) Lambrecht was named after Hermann Lambrecht (1908–1983), who was professor at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and director of the Astrophysical Institute and the University Observatory Jena (IAU code 032) from 1948 to 1968.
