(46539) Viktortikhonov is an asteroid of the main middle belt discovered by the Ukrainian - Soviet astronomer Lyudmyla Shuravlowa on October 24, 1982 at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).
The asteroid was named on April 4, 2015 after the Soviet- Russian ice hockey player and coach Viktor Wassiljewitsch Tichonow (1930-2014). The asteroid of the inner main belt (9565) Tikhonov , also discovered in Nautschnyj , was named after the mathematician Andrei Nikolayevich Tichonov in 2002 .
