(6355) Univermoscow is an asteroid of the outer main belt , which was discovered by the Soviet astronomer Lyudmila Tschernych on October 15, 1969 at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).
The mean diameter of the asteroid was determined to be 28.38 (± 1.9) km. It has a dark surface with an albedo of 0.066.
(6355) Univermoscow is the namesake of an asteroid family. What the members of this family have in common is that the solar orbit of the asteroids is inclined at more than 20 ° relative to the ecliptic of the solar system . The Univermoscow family includes, for example, the asteroids (51116) 2000 HQ 31 , (84404) 2002 TB 181 , (86141) 1999 RD 184 , (99892) 2002 QL , (117752) 2005 GS 50 , (138705) 2000 SU 90 , (167669) 2004 EU 84 , (201408) 2002 VL 118 , (203284) 2001 RY 146 , (247018) 1999 XE 48 , (278411) 2007 RX 42 and (300174) 2006 WM 11 .
(6355) Univermoscow was named on March 6, 2004 after Moscow's Lomonosov University , also called Moscow State University, the largest university in Russia .
