(6719) Gallaj is an asteroid of the main middle belt , which was discovered by the Soviet astronomer Galina Kastel on October 13, 1990 at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095). The asteroid had already been sighted on September 20, 1985 under the provisional name 1985 SO 4 at this observatory.

The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be about 9 kilometers. The asteroid's period of rotation has been studied several times since 2009. However, the light curves were not sufficient for a determination.

(6719) Gallaj was named on March 5, 1996 at the suggestion of Galina Kastel after the Soviet test pilot Mark Lasarewitsch Gallai (1914-1998).
