2nd Army (Turkey)
The 2nd Army ( Turkish 2nd Ordu ) is one of the four armies of the Land Forces (Kara Kuvvetleri) of the Turkish Armed Forces .
The 2nd Army has its headquarters in Malatya . Her area of responsibility includes the protection of Southeast Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia and the borders with Syria , Iran and Iraq .
General Adem Huduti was the commander of the 2nd Army from 2014 to 2016 and was arrested in the course of the attempted coup in Turkey in 2016 . His successor was Lieutenant General İsmail Metin Temel. Temel was removed from command on December 31, 2018 by decree by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan .
