Mamak is a district of the Turkish province of Ankara and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi (big city municipality) Ankara . The district is surrounded by Altındağ, Çankaya and Elmadağ counties . Mamak was declared a parish ( Belediye ) in 1983 .

Of the 321 km² area, almost 20% are used for agriculture, while 34% are urban areas and 6% are forests. The highest point of the district is the Körperınar Tepesi with 1503 m and the second highest mountain the Hüseyin Gazi Dağı with 1456 m. The waters in Mamak include the Hatip Çayı River and the Mavi Göl Lake, which has been dammed by the Bayındır Barajı Dam since 1966.
