history

In the course of the formation of the XVI. Army Corps , the brigade was established by ordinance of the War Ministry from February 1 to April 1, 1890. The command was initially in Metz , from 1912 in Saint-Avold . The brigade belonged to the 34th Division and the 2nd Hanoverian Uhlan Regiment No. 14 and the Magdeburg Dragoon Regiment No. 6 were subordinate to it. In 1902 the subordination changed. In exchange, the Magdeburg Dragoon Regiment No. 6 came to the 33rd Cavalry Brigade and in return the 1st Hanoverian Dragoon Regiment No. 9 was taken over into the brigade association. In 1913 this regiment returned to the 33rd Cavalry Brigade and was replaced by the newly formed Jäger Regiment on Horses No. 12 .

When the First World War broke out , the brigade was disbanded. The 2nd Hanoverian Uhlan Regiment No. 14 became division cavalry of the 34th Infantry Division, the Jäger Regiment on Horses No. 12 was divided into various infantry divisions.
