65th Infantry Brigade (German Empire)

The 65th Infantry Brigade was a large unit of the Prussian Army .

history

In the course of the formation of the XVI. Army Corps , the brigade was established by ordinance of the War Ministry from February 1 to April 1, 1890. The command was in Mörchingen . The brigade belonged to the 33rd Division and its were the Infantry Regiment "Graf Barfuß" (4th Westphalian) No. 17 and the Infantry Regiment No. 144 . In 1906 the 5th Lorraine Infantry Regiment No. 144 left the brigade network and was replaced by the 2nd Lorraine Infantry Regiment No. 131 . By cabinet order of June 29th, the XXI. Army Corps with the 42nd Division to which the brigade was subordinate from this point in time.

First World War

With the outbreak of the First World War , the brigade was reinforced by the Dragoon Regiment “Generalfeldmarschall Prinz Leopold von Bayern” (Westphalian) No. 7 .

After the armistice of Compiègne , the brigade evacuated the occupied territory on November 12, 1918, marched back to Germany and was demobilized and disbanded there by February 1919 .
