29th Cavalry Brigade (German Empire)
The 29th Cavalry Brigade was a large unit of the Prussian Army .
history
After the Franco-Prussian War , the brigade was established on July 1, 1871 by ordinance of the War Ministry as part of the formation of the XIV Army Corps . The command was in Freiburg im Breisgau , from 1890 to 1899 in Colmar and then in Mulhouse . The brigade belonged to the 29th Division and the Kurmärkische Dragoon Regiment No. 14 and the 2nd Badische Dragoon Regiment "Margrave Maximilian" No. 21 were subordinate to it. With the relocation to Colmar, the 2nd Badische Dragoon Regiment No. 21 left the brigade and was replaced by the 3rd Badische Dragoon Regiment "Prinz Karl" No. 22 . In 1908 the subordination changed again. Instead of the Kurmärkische Dragoon Regiment No. 14, the newly formed Jäger Regiment on horseback No. 5 joined the Brigade Association.
When the First World War broke out , the brigade was disbanded. The 3rd Badische Dragoon Regiment "Prinz Karl" No. 22 joined the 29th Infantry Division as division cavalry, the Jäger Regiment on Horseback No. 5 joined the 28th Infantry Division .
