  • A Theban army under Epaminondas marches on Pherai and forces the release of the Theban general Pelopidas , who was captured the previous year and who was supposed to support the Thessalians in the fight against Alexander of Pherai .
  • Pelopidas went to the court of the Persian great king as the Theban envoy and achieved that Thebes was recognized as the dominant power of order in Greece . However, his attempts to establish a universal peace guaranteed by Persia fail.
