Western Mediterranean
- Aulus Cornelius Cossus, Marcus Geganius Macerinus, Lucius Veturius Crassus Cicurinus, Marcus Cornelius Maluginensis, Publius Manlius Capitolinus and Publius Valerius Potitus Poplicola become Roman military tribunes .
- The Roman tribunes Gaius Licinius Stolo and Lucius Sextius Lateranus introduce a bill known as Leges Liciniae Sextiae . According to her, the state should be led by two consuls - one of whom was a patrician and one could be a plebeian - a praetor for the administration of justice and two aediles . This will put an end to the class conflict in Rome.
- Dionysius II succeeds his father Dionysius I on the throne of Syracuse .
Eastern Mediterranean
- A Theban army under Epaminondas marches on Pherai and forces the release of the Theban general Pelopidas , who was captured the previous year and who was supposed to support the Thessalians in the fight against Alexander of Pherai .
- Pelopidas went to the court of the Persian great king as the Theban envoy and achieved that Thebes was recognized as the dominant power of order in Greece . However, his attempts to establish a universal peace guaranteed by Persia fail.
