action
During a stay in Provence, the tax officer Marc falls in love with his chance acquaintance Sylvie. They arrange to meet again in Paris, which Marc misses because he has previously suffered a heart attack. After his recovery, Marc travels to Provence again to look for Sylvie, who has since emigrated to the United States. Marc falls in love again and marries Sophie. He finds out too late that Sophie is the sister of the missing Sylvie.
