history

The yacht replaced the GDR state yacht of the same name, also built in 1952 by order of Wilhelm Pieck at VEB Yachtwerft in Berlin-Köpenick . It was only approved for inland navigation and was designed for a maximum of 63 passengers. It was used in particular for tours by delegations from the diplomatic corps and for holding conferences. It was owned by the office of the Council of Ministers of the GDR . However, its occupation was provided by the Ministry of State Security . Compared to the predecessor ship built from precious wood, the successor building used by Erich Honecker is a "ugly, steel square box", at least that's how Uwe Giesler, an expert on GDR inland navigation vessels, judges it.

In 1990 she was taken over by the East Berlin White Fleet and in 1992 came into possession of Stern und Kreisschiffahrt , Berlin through a merger . Since 1994 it has belonged to the shipyard owner Detlef Hegemann under the name Vineta . As part of the bankruptcy estate of Stralsund P + S Werften , the ship was then up for sale. On December 7, 2014, the yacht was auctioned for 130,000 euros.

In 2017 the ship returned to Berlin. There it was initially in Spandau for a year . In 2018 it was transferred to the Spree in Berlin-Alt-Treptow by its new owner, the operator of a sailing school . There it is opposite Treptower Park and is used as a floating office and training location. With another name change, the owner gave A. Köbis back its first name.
