Abdel Said (born June 11, 1989 in Alexandria , Al-Iskandariyya , as Abd Al Kader Saïd ) is an Egyptian show jumper who lives in Belgium .

Private

Said grew up bilingually (Arabic and English) and has meanwhile also mastered the Dutch language.

Career

He started riding at the age of three. After some regional successes, his father sent him to Emile Hendrix in the Netherlands in 2000 , where he trained for eight years and went to school there. During his time in the Hendrix stable, Said won two Dutch championships.

He also trained with Piet Raijmakers and Jos Lansink . For some time he was employed in Albert Peffer's stable. He has been self-employed since 2011, his stable is in Zandhoven, Belgium . Said buys young jumpers and trains them with the aim of selling them later.

In 2007 he finished third with Sky High at the Pan-Arab Games in Cairo in singles and silver with the team.

At the CSIO5 * in Abu Dhabi Said finished 5th on Avenir in 2010. In December 2011, he took part in the Pan-Arab Games in Doha. Here he was again successful with the team, the Egyptians finished third. He finished eighth in the individual ranking.

At the World Equestrian Games in 2014 he took part with Vingino , but only came in the lower ranks (21st place with the Egyptian team, 134th place in the individual ranking). In November 2016, Said won the Verona World Cup with Hope van Scherpen Donder .
