Adam Eckenbrecht von der Malsburg (born March 16, 1656 , † January 1, 1708 in Regensburg ) was a Hesse-Kassel state official and politician.

family

Adam Eckenbrecht von der Malsburg came from the Hessian nobility of the Lords of Malsburg . His parents were Caspar Eckbrecht von der Malsburg († 1683), son of Rittmeister Moritz Christoph von der Malsburg and Margarethe von Schilder , and his wife Catharina Dorothea († October 16, 1668), daughter of Otto (XIV.) Von der Malsburg , Head of the Althessian Knighthood , and Dorothea Marie von Günderrode .

He himself was married twice. In 1683 he married Dorothea Margarethe von Canstein (1656–1704), daughter of Friedrich Achaz von Canstein and Juliane von der Malsburg. His second marriage was on November 6, 1707 in Sulzbach with Anna Sophia von Steinling (1669–1721)

His son from his first marriage, born in 1686, Carl Maria von der Malsburg, converted from the Reformed to the Catholic creed in 1706 and became a canon in Hildesheim , then a Capuchin in Prague . The younger son was called Ludwig Friedrich Johann. A daughter married Philipp Wilhelm von Schutzbar called Milchling , a colonel from Hesse-Kassel .

career

Malsburg entered the service of Landgrave Karl von Hessen-Kassel and began his career in 1682 as court junker. 1683 he was Regierungsassessor and in the same year Government . He repeatedly represented the landgrave's government as an envoy , and in 1699 he was the secret council of the landgrave's comitial envoy to the Perpetual Diet of the Holy Roman Empire in Regensburg . In 1700 he was appointed court marshal in Kassel ; In 1702 he became President of the Hessian Samthof Court in Marburg .

Malsburg followed his father as lord of Elmarshausen , Niederelsungen , Obermeiser and Ödinghausen .
