Adam Kowalski (athlete)
Adam Kowalski (born December 19, 1912 in Stanislau , Galicia , Austria-Hungary , † December 9, 1971 in Krakow ) was a Polish athlete .
Career
Adam Kowalski spent his entire club career as a hockey player between 1928 and 1951 at KS Cracovia , with whom he won the Polish championship title in 1937, 1946 and 1949 . He was also successful in the sports of basketball , handball and water polo . During the Second World War he was in German captivity in officers' camp II C in Woldenberg .
International
For the Polish National Hockey Kowalski took part in the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid , 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and in 1948 in St. Moritz in part. He was also in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1935 , 1937 , 1938 and 1939 . In total, he completed 53 international matches for Poland from 1932 to 1948, in which he scored 22 goals.
