Adam Russo (born April 12, 1983 in Montréal , Québec ) is an Italian - Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Laval Prédateurs in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey since 2015 .

Career

Adam Russo began his career as a hockey player with Acadie-Bathurst Titan , which had selected him in the LHJMQ Entry Draft 2000 in the second round as the 29th player and for which he was in the top Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur from 2000 to 2004 du Québec was active. He was elected to the All-Rookie Team in 2001, the Second All-Star Team in 2002, and LHJMQ's First All-Star Team in 2003 when he had the lowest conceded goals rate in the league. In 2003 he was also named the best goalkeeper in the Canadian Hockey League and was elected to their First All-Star team. In 2004 the goalkeeper moved to Italy, where he played for Asiago Hockey and HC Alleghe in Serie A in the 2004/05 season. He then moved to Serie B, where he was on the ice for the following year and a half for HC Turin and HC Meran , with which he won the A2 series in 2007 before he was signed by the first division club HC Bozen . With the Tyroleans he won the Italian championship in the 2007/08 season . Nevertheless, he left the club and joined the Diables Noirs de Tours from the French Ligue Magnus .

For the 2009/10 season he moved to Port Huron Icehawks from the International Hockey League . Shortly before the start of the 2010/11 season , Adam Russo signed a contract with SG Cortina from Serie A1, where he took the place of injured Canadian Ryan Munce for a month . In October 2010 he was signed for the remainder of the season by the Quad City Mallards from the Central Hockey League . He was regularly used with the Mallards, but Russo did not succeed in securing a permanent place in the long term. On July 29, 2011 he was transferred to the Wichita Thunder within the Central Hockey League for a consideration to be determined . In August 2012, league rival Arizona Sundogs secured his services, also by barter, although Russo had mainly been used as a regular goalkeeper for the Wichita Thunder in the previous season. In 2013 he moved to the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey , where he was previously in goal for the Braves de Laval , Éperviers de Sorel-Tracy and Laval Prédateurs .

International

For Italy , Russo took part in the top division world championships in 2008 and 2010 as well as in the 2009 Division I men's ice hockey world championship . He was also part of Italy's squad for qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
