Adolf Kimmel

Adolf Kimmel (born November 19, 1938 ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Kimmel studied history and political science in Würzburg, Berlin and Paris ( Sorbonne University and Institut d'études politiques de Paris ). It was founded in 1967 at the Faculty of Free University of Berlin with the by Gilbert Ziebura supervised dissertation The rise of Nazism in the mirror of the French press from 1930 to 1933 to the Dr. phil. PhD. He then worked as a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin and the Saarland University in Saarbrücken. In 1979 he completed his habilitation with the thesis The National Assembly in the Fifth French Republic .

From 1979 to 1980 he was a professor at the University of Bochum . This was followed by a private lectureship in Saarbrücken and a substitute professorship at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 1986 to 1996 he was Professor of Political Science at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . From 1996 he was a professor at the University of Trier . In 2004 he retired.

From 1993 to 1995 he was chairman of the German Society for Political Science .
