Marianne Kneuer

Marianne Rosl Kneuer-Heddesheimer (born June 19, 1964 in Bonn ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Kneuer studied Hispanic Studies , Political Science and Philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid . After obtaining her Magister Artium in 1989, she was awarded a Dr. phil. (Dissertation: Literature and Philosophy. Their Relationship with Ernesto Sábato ) PhD.

She worked as a journalist a. a. for The Political Opinion and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . From 1994 to 1999 she was a consultant in the planning staff of Federal President Roman Herzog .

From 2001 to 2004 she was a scholarship holder of the German Research Foundation (DFG). 2005 habilitation they are in political science at the Catholic University with the work of democratization by the EU. South and East Central Europe in comparison . She then represented professorships at the University of Erfurt , the Distance University in Hagen and the Technical University of Darmstadt . She has been Professor of Political Science at the University of Hildesheim since 2011 .

She is a member of various associations u. a. the German Association for Political Science (DVPW) and the German Society for Political Science (DGfP). From 2011 to 2013 she was chairwoman of the DGfP. She works as a co-editor of book series and is also co-editor of the Journal for Comparative Political Science (ZfVP). Since 2018 she has been President of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), where she previously held the position of First Vice President (2016-2018) and has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2014.
