Adolf Nadig

Adolf Nadig (born June 3, 1877 in Munich , † May 15, 1960 in Chur , reformed , resident in Tschiertschen and Chur) was a Swiss politician (FDP) , entrepreneur , natural scientist and conservationist .

Life

Adolf Nadig was born on June 3, 1877 as the son of the head of an international freight forwarding company Christian Nadig and Maria, née Brehm, in Munich. After completing elementary schools in Como and Chiasso and the cantonal school in Chur, he first studied medicine , then studied law in Zurich , Leipzig and Heidelberg , which he obtained in 1902 with the academic degree of Dr. iur. completed.

As a result, Nadig joined his father's company in Milan , which he took over as head in 1913. In 1919 he founded the Scuola Svizzera in Milan. In 1921 he retired from his business and moved to Chur.

Adolf Nadig also made a name for himself as a natural scientist and as a homeland and nature conservationist. So presided Nadig 1922-1931 the Swiss Association for Nature Conservation and 1947-1950 the Swiss Nature and Cultural Heritage Commission.

At the political level, Adolf Nadig, a member of the FDP Switzerland, was Chur mayor from 1926 to 1935 . He was also a member of the Grisons Grand Council between 1927 and 1935 . From 1936 he headed the education and health department in the Small Council , from which he left in 1941 after the first ballot. In addition, he had a seat in the National Council from 1943 to 1947 .

Adolf Nadig, who was married to Elisabeth, daughter of the chemical industrialist from Milan Ottone Koch, died on May 15, 1960 just before he was 83 years old in Chur.
