Adolf Wuschick (born August 5, 1870 in Kausche , district of Calau , † October 1, 1955 in Berlin ) was a German social democratic politician and trade unionist.

Life

He was a metal worker and joined the SPD and the free trade union German Metal Workers' Association in 1894 . Between 1894 and 1904 he was a member of the district management of the DMV in Berlin. He then worked for the union until November 1918. In the SPD he was a member of the press commission for the " Vorwärts " from 1903 to 1905 .

From December 1918 to March 1923 he was district party secretary in Berlin. As such, he played a leading role in the organization of the general strike during the Kapp Putsch in 1920 . After a short period as an employee, he was party secretary for the Ober- and Niederbarnim subdistrict from 1924 to 1933. He was also a member of the district committee of the SPD Brandenburg-Grenzmark.

In 1919, 1920, 1924 and 1928 Wuschick ran for the Weimar National Assembly and the Reichstag, respectively . Between 1928 and 1933 he was a member of the Prussian state parliament .

After the end of National Socialist rule in 1945 he was party secretary in Berlin for a short time and worked in the press office of the Lichtenberg district office .

Between 1946 and 1950 he was a member of the Berlin city council and age president of the house. He had been a member of the Constitutional Committee since 1949. Between 1950 and 1955 he was a member of the House of Representatives in West Berlin with an advisory vote as a representative for the East Berlin districts.

In 1950 he was appointed city ​​elder of (West) Berlin .
