Adolf von Engel

Adolf Maria Ludwig von Engel (born February 6, 1834 in Breesen ; † April 9, 1900 there ) was the owner of a majorate and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

origin

Adolf von Engel was a son of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin Chamberlain Adolf von Engel (1798–1857) and his wife Christiane, née von Bülow (1806–1863).

Career

Engel attended high school on the pedagogy in Halle and then studied law at the universities of Göttingen , Heidelberg , Berlin and Rostock . He became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg (1853) and Obotritia Rostock . After working for a year at the Schwerin law firm, he ran the Breesen family entrepre- neurship as a practical farmer . Engel was from 1879 as a deputy of the knightly district of Wenden, from 1888 as district administrator of the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, a member of the select committee of the Mecklenburg knights and landscape .

As a German Conservative , he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin 4 ( Waren , Malchin ) from 1881 to 1884 .

family

Engel had on May 25, 1860 in Neustrelitz (castle parish) with Anna, geb. von Jagow (1832–1911) married, a daughter of the Neustrelitz house marshal Heinrich von Jagow. The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Hans (* 1865), Prussian Rittmeister and Herr auf Breesen ⚭ Anna von Wegerer (* 1869), daughter of the Prussian Major General Konrad von Wegerer (1822-1891)
  • Karl (* 1866), Prussian Rittmeister, Herr auf Wamckow ⚭ Elisabeth von Alvensleben (* 1872)
  • Fritz (* 1874), Mecklenburg Chamberlain and Drost of the Mirow Domain Office ⚭ Frida Freiin von Patow (* 1873)
