Adrian Baianu

Adrian Baianu (born May 22, 1966 in Munich ) is a German song accompanist, répétiteur and vocal coach .

Life and work

During his school days at the Pestalozzi-Gymnasium Munich (Abitur 1985) Baianu took piano lessons with Hildegard Stenda and was supervised by the pianist Ludwig Hoffmann . He then studied piano with Gottfried Hefele and song design with Erik Werba , Helmut Deutsch , Norman Shetler and Siegfried Mauser at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . He also studied theater studies and Italian philology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He also studied musicology there and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.

From 1994 to 2006 Baianu had a teaching position for vocal accompaniment at the University of Music and Theater in Munich. At that time he was already giving recitals and making CD recordings with Susan B. Anthony, Wolfgang Brendel , Wolfgang Koch , Noëmi Nadelmann , Andreas Schmidt , Edith Wiens and Elena Zaremba . Baianu has been working as a freelance song accompanist and répétiteur since 2007. a. by Albert Dohmen , Petra Lang , Falk Struckmann , Juha Uusitalo and Michael Volle .

He has given concerts in Berlin at the Komische Oper , in Bern, at the Grand Théâtre de Genève , at the Brussels Opera (La Monnaie / de Munt), at the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, in Krakow, in the Leipzig Gewandhaus , in London ( Wigmore Hall and St Luke's Old Street), at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo , in the Prinzregententheater Munich, at the Savonlinna Opera Festival , in Stuttgart, Valencia ( Palau de les Arts , Palau de la Musica) and in Zurich.

In addition, Adrian Baianu specializes as a vocal coach in forgotten Italian singing techniques that were specially designed for large rooms. He transfers these techniques to the German opera repertoire with a focus on Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss . Together with the opera and concert singer Petra Lang and stimulated by the Italian tenor Angelo Loforese, he perfects these techniques. Both of them pass on their knowledge in master classes (e.g. Münster 2008, in London 2009, in Bayreuth on the occasion of the Bayreuth Festival 2013, in Sankt Goar in 2014 and 2015, at the Opera Studio of the Cologne Opera and in Munich).
