Aelrun Goette
Aelrun Goette (born July 6, 1966 in East Berlin ) is a German director of documentaries and feature films .
Life
Born and raised in East Berlin , she left school after the 10th grade to train as a nurse . She then worked in psychiatry and later as a prison assistant. Shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall, she worked as a model , before she made up her Abitur in 1990 and studied philosophy at first, then later directing at the Babelsberg Film School . In between she worked as an actress and theater director. So she played for a while in the soap opera Good Times, Bad Times .
Her films often deal with people - especially women - in border areas. So is her first documentary Without Probation - Psychogram of a Murderer of a 15-year-old girl who tortured a 13-year-old to death. In her highly acclaimed and award-winning documentary The Children Are Dead , she deals with the life of a mother who let her two children die of thirst. Her first full-length feature film Unter dem Eis is also about a family tragedy and was awarded the Grimme Prize in 2007 . The Tatort episode, The Happy Death , which was created under Goette's direction and deals with the subject of euthanasia , was awarded the Hartmannbund's 2009 Film and Television Prize. Her other films received numerous awards. In 2019, the Babelsberg Film University appointed her honorary professor for the courses in acting, directing and screenwriting / dramaturgy. 2019 she received the Spreewald literary grant for their screenplay in a country that no longer exists .. . The BKM also sponsored the script about the GDR fashion scene with 30,000 euros. Goette will also direct, Tanja Ziegler will take over the production.
