Aeroexpress ( Russian Аэроэкспресс , Aeroekspress ) is a Russian railway company that operates the rail link between the airports and the city ​​centers of Moscow , Kazan , Sochi and Vladivostok . The trains run with little or no stops between the terminus stations. The company's headquarters are located at Sheremetyevo Airport .

Aeroexpress was founded in 2005 and is based in Moscow. The company is owned by the Russian Railways (25%), the Delta-Trans-Invest investment group (50%), the owner of the transmash holding Andrei Bokarew (7.5%) and the mining entrepreneur Iskander Makhmudov (17.5%). At the beginning of 2014 it had a market value of around 40 million euros .

Moscow airports

Aeroexpress routes in Moscow

There are three Aeroexpress lines in Moscow. Each of the major airports is connected to a different inner city train station. The line from Moscow-Domodedovo Airport goes to Paveletsky Railway Station , that of Moscow-Vnukovo Airport to Kiev Railway Station, and that of Moscow-Sheremetyevo Airport to Belarusian Railway Station .

The journey time from the airports is around 45 minutes. The metro journey between two destination stations takes about 30 minutes. It takes at least 2 hours to change airports between two Moscow airports.

Under the name РЭКС ( REKS , Regional Express ), several other lines are operated together with Zjentralnaja PPK, which are run 2 to 3 times a day:

Vladivostok Airport

In Vladivostok, the newly built Vladivostok-Knewitschi Airport near Artyom will be connected to the Vladivostok train station. The connection has been in operation since July 20, 2012. After Aeroexpress lost 62 million rubles with the operation of the line in Vladivostok in 2014 , the company withdrew from Vladivostok. However, a new operator has been found with "Express Primorje".

Sochi airport

The Sochi Airport - AdlerSochi Railway Station line was built for the 2014 Winter Olympics . The line was opened by Aeroexpress on February 15, 2012, but operations were handed over to RŽD on May 1, 2013 .

Kazan airport

Aeroexpress trains have been running between Kazan Airport and Kazan Passashirskaya station since May 22, 2013 . The line was put into operation in time for traffic in connection with the 2013 Summer Universiade . After 2014 Aeroexpress with the operation of the line in Kazan 130 million rubles (1.96 million US dollars ) made loss, the company withdrew from the city. With the company "Sodruschestvo" a new operator could be found.
