Airplanes is a song by the American rapper B.oB , which was released on April 13, 2010 as a second single from his album BoB Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray . The song was the singer Hayley Williams of Paramore added.

Hayley Williams has stated in various interviews for MTV that she was on tour with Paramore when she got the offer from BoB. BoB said he had always been a fan of Hayley Williams and was dying to record a song with her. Since they had never met before, the music video was recorded individually and later edited together. The first meeting between the two was at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards , where they first sang the song.
Music video
BoB shot the scenes for his video back in April, while Williams was only able to shoot after Paramore's spring tour. In the video, BoB sings most of the time on a stage, where verses of the lyrics are occasionally displayed in the background. Williams, on the other hand, is in a light-flooded room throughout the video. BoB can often be seen at a party performing on a stage where pictures are taken before the chorus of Williams singing the chorus.

On the album BoB Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray there is a version of the song with the rapper Eminem . The American post-hardcore band We Are Defiance covered the song together with ex- A-Day-to-Remember musician Tom Denney . The Barbadian R & B - singer Rihanna coverte the part of Hayley Williams and sang it in a medley consisting of Airplanes , Love the Way You Lie and Hate did I Love You , on her Last Girl on Earth Tour in North America. Furthermore, a cover of The Ready Set appeared on the compilation Punk Goes Pop 3 .
