Acropolis Tournament 2011

The 25th edition of the Acropolis basketball tournament 2011 took place between 23 and 25 August 2011 in the suburb of Marousi of Athens . The five games in total were held in the Olympic Hall .

In addition to the host Greek national team , the national teams from Italy and Bulgaria also took part. The field of participants completed the American team from Brigham Young University . While Bulgaria was only represented for the second time, Italy took part for the 15th time.

The Greek Antonios Fotsis was named MVP of the tournament . Top scorer was Danilo Gallinari from Italy with a total of 56 points (18.7 on average).

Special

  • For Fotsis it was the third award for MVP of the Acropolis tournament.
  • For the first time since 1998, a university team from the United States took part.
  • The match between Bulgaria and BYU did not take place because the Americans had to leave the day before.
