Alain de Raemy (born April 10, 1959 in Barcelona , Spain ) is auxiliary bishop in Lausanne, Geneva and Friborg .

Life

Alain de Raemy studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Swiss University of Friborg . 1984 acquired de Raemy the licentiate in Catholic theology. He received on 25 October 1986, the sacrament of Holy Orders . Alain de Raemy then worked as a vicar in Yverdon-les-Bains , Lausanne and Morges . In 1996 he became pastor of the Christkönig parish in Freiburg in Üechtland . Alain de Raemy became pastor and cathedral capitular at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in 2004 . He also became pastor of the pastoral unit Our Lady in Freiburg in Üechtland. From 2006 to 2013 Alain de Raemy was chaplain of the Pontifical Swiss Guard , his successor in that office was Pascal Burri .

On 30 November 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Turris in Mauretania and auxiliary bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Friborg. He was consecrated as bishop by the bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Friborg, Charles Morerod OP , on January 11, 2014 in the St. Niklaus Cathedral in Friborg. Co- consecrators were the former bishop of Chur , Amédée Grab OSB , and the bishop of Sitten , Norbert Brunner . His motto Apud Dominum misericordia ("With the Lord is mercy") he took from Psalm 129.

In 2017 he was appointed Grand Officer of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Edwin Frederick O'Brien and invested in the Swiss Lieutenancy.
