Albany Medical Center Prize

The Albany Medical Center Prize is a science award that has been awarded annually since 2001 by the Albany Medical Center at the University at Albany, The State University of New York, for outstanding medical and biomedical research over the past 10 to 25 years.

With prize money of US $ 500,000, it is the most prestigious medical award in the United States after the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences and the fourth most prestigious in the world after this, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and the Shaw Prize in Medicine. It was donated by Morris Silverman (1912-2006). It is planned to be awarded for a period of 100 years.
