Albert Gönner

Albert Gönner (born March 29, 1838 in Neufra , Hohenzollernsche Lande ; † July 5, 1909 in Baden-Baden ) was a German administrative lawyer and member of the Grand Duchy of Baden. He was Lord Mayor of Baden-Baden for over 32 years.

Life

Gönner studied law at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and was active in the Corps Rhenania Freiburg in 1858 . As an inactive , he moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . After the Baden state law examination (1859) and the legal trainee and assessor exams (1862 and 1864) he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD .

He entered the administrative service of the Grand Duchy of Baden and came to Offenburg , Haslach im Kinzigtal and Kenzingen . In 1866 (the year of the German War ) he became a bailiff in Überlingen . In 1868 he came to Heidelberg as a police officer, which also meant the responsibility as the disciplinary superior of the students. After the Franco-Prussian War , in 1871 he was appointed senior bailiff and board member in Neustadt im Black Forest . In 1875 he was appointed Lord Mayor of Baden-Baden. When he retired in 1907, she made him honorary citizen.

As a member of the National Liberal Party , he sat in the second chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly from 1883 . From 1893 to 1905 he was its president.
