Aleksandr Jaschewski SDB ( Belarusian Аляксандр Яшевскі , Russian Александр Яшевский * 6. August 1974 in Smarhon , Grodno Region , Belarusian SSR ) is a Roman Catholic priest and auxiliary bishop in Minsk-Mogilev .

Life

Aleksandr Jaschewski entered the seminar of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Czerwińsk nad Wisłą in Poland in 1994 . He studied philosophy at the Salesian Seminary in Łódź and Catholic theology at the Pontifical University of the Salesians in Rome . In 1998, he laid the Perpetual from and received on 24 June 2000, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After the ordination he was active in various pastoral tasks in the diocese of Hrodna and from 2001 to 2002 as head of the novitiate in Oktyabrsk , Russia . From 2003 he worked in the regional supervision of the Salesians for Eastern Europe and in 2005 became head of the department for educational issues and religious instruction in the Archdiocese of Minsk-Mahiljou. At the same time he was pastorally active in a Minsk parish until 2011. In 2009 he graduated from the Pontifical University of the Salesians with a degree in dogmatics and then worked as a lecturer in the formation of catechists. In 2011 he took on pastoral duties in his native Smarhon and became superior of the Salesian community there. Since 2013 he has been vicar and economist of the Belarusian Salesians.

On June 9, 2015 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Furnos Maior and Auxiliary Bishop of Minsk-Mogilev. He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Belarus, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti , on June 27 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Minsk-Mahiljou, Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz , and the Bishop of Hrodna , Aleksander Kaszkiewicz .
