Aleksandr Kuznetsov (born January 29, 1985 in Narva , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Viking Tallinn again since 2016 .

Career

Aleksandr Kuznetsov began his career as a hockey player in his Estonian homeland with the record champions Narva PSK , who until 2003 was called "Narva 2000". In the middle of the 2005/06 season he moved to the reigning national champion Tallinn Stars , with whom he won the Estonian title in 2006, 2007 and 2009 . After the club went bankrupt in 2009, Kuznetsov moved back to his home club in Narva. Since 2010 he has been playing for the lower class Swedish club Varberg HK , which he led from fifth class division 3 to division 2 in 2011 . In 2014 he was promoted to Division 1 with his club . In early 2015 he returned to Estonia, where he finished the season in the Meistriliiga with HC Viking Tallinn . He then returned to his hometown Narva, where he won the Estonian championship title with the PSK in 2016. After this success, he rejoined Viking Tallinn, where he has played ever since.

International

For Estonia, Kuznetsov took part in Division II of the U18 World Junior Championships in 2001 , 2002 and 2003 as well as in the U-20 division in Division III of the 2002 World Cup , the Division II World Cup in 2003 and Division I of the World Championships in 2004 and 2005 part, where he achieved two successes in 2002 and 2003.

He made his debut for the men's national team at the World Cup Division I in 2004 in Gdansk, Poland . Also in 2007 , 2013 , 2015 , 2016 and 2018 he was on the ice for the Estonians at the World Championships in Division I. In 2009 and 2014 he competed for his country in Division II.

He also played for Estonia in November 2004 in qualifying for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , in November 2008 in qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and in November 2015 and February 2016 in the qualifying tournaments for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . He was also on the ice for the Estonian team at the Baltic Cup in 2016 and 2017.
