Alessandra Corine Maria Ambrósio (born April 11, 1981 in Erechim , Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian model . Her father is of Italian descent, the mother has Polish- Brazilian roots.

Life

Ambrosio is managed by the Elite Model Group and has been part of the Victoria's Secret models since 2000 . She began modeling at the age of twelve and made the title page of Brazilian Vogue as one of the finalists in the Elite Model Look model competition in 1996 . She had her first modeling job at Elle Brasil , followed by advertising campaigns for companies such as Revlon and Gap . In 2008 Ambrosio presented the swimwear collection 2008 for Victoria's Secret together with Marisa Miller . She has also been on the catwalk for numerous well-known designers, including Christian Lacroix , Christian Dior and Giorgio Armani . She can also be seen in various commercials for the US car brand Hummer and was one of the models in the 2003 Pirelli calendar campaign.

In the James Bond film Casino Royale , Ambrosio made a brief guest appearance as a tennis player in front of the Ocean Club . She also appeared briefly on the first episode of the fourth season of Entourage . She also made a minor guest appearance on the tenth episode of the third season of How I Met Your Mother . There she embodied herself at a Victoria's Secret aftershow party.

Ambrosio currently lives in New York City . She has been in a relationship with the American businessman Jamie Mazur since 2005, with whom she had a daughter on August 24, 2008. A few months later she was working again as a lingerie model for Victoria's Secret . On May 7, 2012, Alessandra Ambrosio and Jamie Mazur became parents again with the birth of a son.

In 2010 she was featured in an advertising campaign for LG Electronics on the Korean market. In 2014, Alessandra Ambrosio opened the 60th edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week , which took place in Madrid .

She made her acting debut in 2015 in the role of Samia, a former top model, in the telenovela Verdades Secretas . In 2017, she announced that she would not renew her contract with Victoria's Secret . She has been a brand ambassador for LASCANA since April 2018.

Ambrosio is an ambassador for the US National Multiple Sclerosis Society .
