Alessia Trost (born March 8, 1993 in Pordenone ) is an Italian high jumper .

Athletic career

In 2009 Alessia Trost won the youth world championships in Bressanone with a new best and also won the European Youth Olympic Festival in the same year. In 2010 she won the silver medal at the first ever Youth Olympic Games. At the 2011 European Junior Athletics Championships , she barely missed a medal with a jump of 1.85 m. In 2012 she won the Junior World Championships in Barcelona .

In 2013 she took fourth place at the European Indoor Championships and won the U23 European Championships in the open-air season with a new championship record of 1.98 m. She finished the World Championships in Moscow in seventh place. In 2014 she reached the final of the European Championships in Zurich . Her greatest success so far is winning the silver medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2015 in Prague . She was able to win again at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn .

In 2016, she finished seventh at the World Indoor Championships in Portland and at the European Championships in Amsterdam , she finished sixth with a jump of 1.89 m. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she finished fifth in the final . In 2017 she qualified again for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 1.89 m in the qualification .

At the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , she won the bronze medal with a jump of 1.93 m.
