Alexander Gallee

Alexander Gallee (* 1968 in Vienna ) is an Austrian general practitioner and song , concert and opera singer ( tenor ).

Career

Alexander Gallee, whose main occupation is a general practitioner, began his musical career as a member of the “ Boys' Choir of the Vienna Woods ” and continued his choir activities with the Heinrich Schütz Chamber Choir and the St. Augustin Choir Association . He supplemented his training with singing lessons with Hugh Beresford , Sona Ghazarian , Michael Pabst and Ingeborg Friedl and perfected it by attending master classes with Fedora Barbieri , James King , Peter Dvorsky and Sena Jurinac .

In 1996 he won the first prize at a competition of the Vienna music schools, which was connected with a solo performance in the Vienna Konzerthaus . He reached the semifinals of the 2009 international singing competition in Orvieto .

In 2001 Alexander Gallee made his operatic debut with the role of “First Armored Person ” in the “Magic Flute” at the “Festival of Young Artists” in Graz . This was followed by performances by the Gustav Mahler Conservatory under the direction of Andrija Pavlic in Vienna, where he embodied various roles in Mozart operas.

He reached the semifinals of the 2009 international singing competition in Orvieto .

At a soloist orchestral concert with tenor arias under the direction of Herbert Krenn , he performed with “ Concentus21 ” in 2011 , and in January 2012 he sang Eisenstein in “ Die Fledermaus ” by Johann Strauss under Konrad Ganglberger .

In 2018 he worked as “1. Engel ”with the world premiere of the Easter Oratorio by Michael Stenov in the parish church of St. Peter in Linz / Spallerhof.

Gallee is the secretary of the "OBGAM - Upper Austria Society for General and Family Medicine". He lives in Vorder Weißenbach , where he also has his medical ordination

Alexander Gallee is also active as a lieder singer as well as a concert singer and in the classical sacred repertoire (e.g. Haydn, Mozart, Schubert masses).
