Alexander Naumowitsch Mitta
Alexander Naumowitsch Mitta ( Russian Алекса́ндр Нау́мович Митта́ , née Rabinowitsch , Russian Рабино́вич ; born March 28, 1933 in Moscow ) is a Soviet and Russian film director , screenwriter and film actor .
Life
Mitta studied civil engineering at the MGSU until 1955 and worked as a caricaturist for various satire and literary magazines, including the magazine Krokodil . By 1961, Mitta studied directing at the WGIK with Michail Romm . His directorial debut was the feature film Друг мой, Колька in 1961.
He received international recognition in 1966 when he was awarded the Golden Lion for Tanja sucht Freunde in Venice . For Lost in Sibiria , Mitta received a Golden Globe nomination in 1992 . In addition to his work in film, Mitta has been teaching dramaturgy at the Moscow Film School since 1992 and is a lecturer in directing. The University of Hamburg awarded Mitta the title "Professor" in 1999.
