Alexander Wedl (born February 21, 1969 in Landsberg ) is a German ice hockey player ( defender ).
Career
Wedl began his career in the 1986/87 season at EV Landsberg in the 2nd League South and played there, with one interruption in the 1989/90 season until the 1993/94 season , until he entered the 1994/95 season DEL switched to the Frankfurt Lions .
Between 1995 and 1999 Wedl played for the Kassel Huskies before moving to EC Bad Nauheim in the 2nd Bundesliga during the 1998/99 season. His next stops in the 1999/00 season were the Hamburg Crocodiles and later in the season the SC Riessersee . For the 2000/01 season he first moved to EA Schongau in the Bayern League , before joining the ESV Kaufbeuren in the Oberliga in the same year .
Wedl then returned to his home club in Landsberg and played in the 2001/02 season for a year in the Bavarian League and, after successful promotion to the major league, another year in the major league . For the 2003/04 season Wedl signed a contract with EHC Munich , with which he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2004/05 season . Despite this success, Wedl moved back to EV Landsberg 2000 for the 2005/06 season , with whom he again succeeded in promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
In the 2006/07 season he first played for the EC Peiting , but switched to the later promoted team, the EV Ravensburg, during the season . At the beginning of the 2007/08 season Wedl again signed a contract with EV Landsberg, but returned because of the club's financial problems during the season to EV Ravensburg, with whom he managed to keep up. After Wedl did not receive a new contract with EV Ravensburg after the season, he decided to move to ECDC Memmingen in the Bayern League for the 2008/09 season .
In the 2010/11 season Wedl played several times for HC Landsberg. Alexander Wedl has been a coach and defender at HC Landsberg since the 2013/14 season.
