Alexander von Busse

Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Franz Alexander von Busse (born February 25, 1814 in Weidenbach , Oels district , † June 27, 1878 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

He was the son of Karl Konrad Leopold von Busse (1771-1836) and his wife Amalie, born von Zitzewitz (1786-1860). His father was a captain . D. and Mr. auf Weidenbach. His brother Hermann von Busse (1818-1894) was a member of the German Reichstag.

Military career

After attending the Knight Academy in Liegnitz , Busse joined the 4th Hussar Regiment of the Prussian Army on June 1, 1831 as a hussar . In the further course of his military career he rose as a major to the regular staff officer in the Cuirassier Regiment No. 1 until May 1863 . For the duration of the mobile relationship on the occasion of the 1866 campaign , Busse was commander of the 2nd Landwehr-Uhlan Regiment, with which he took part in the battles near Oświęcim and Goszalkowitz. After the war ended on September 30, 1866 promoted to lieutenant colonel, he was appointed commander of Dragoon Regiment No. 15 a month later . He was promoted to colonel on July 3, 1868 .

As such, Busse commanded his regiment during the war against France in 1870/71. He participated in the siege of Paris and fought in a number of skirmishes. His achievements were honored by being awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. After the Peace of Frankfurt , Busse was charged with the command of the 15th Cavalry Brigade under position à la suite of his regiment . On October 19, 1871 he was appointed commander and promoted in this position to major general on March 22, 1873. In mid-January 1876 he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves. On November 11, 1873, Busse was put up for disposition and was given the character of Lieutenant General with a pension .

His final resting place is in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf .

Since 1842 he was married to Luise von Witowski (born October 14, 1819, † February 20, 1887). The marriage had eight children:
