The Alexanderheide is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony city ​​of Oldenburg .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 282 is around 39  hectares in size. The application for the initiation of a procedure to be placed under protection was submitted to the responsible environmental committee in May 2011 by the nature protection officer of the city of Oldenburg. The initiation of the procedure itself was decided on February 27, 2013. The area has been under protection since June 21, 2014. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the city of Oldenburg.

The nature reserve is located in the Oldenburg district of Alexandersfeld in the east of the former Oldenburg air base and includes part of the waterworks adjoining to the north . The protected area is characterized by sandy grasslands , grassland and ruderal areas as well as forest and shrubbery areas, which were able to develop on the poor sandy soils through decades of extensive maintenance on areas used by the military. So here are u. a. Heidenelke , Hasenklee , silver cinquefoil , Biting Stonecrop , dianthus carthusianorum and Cladoniaflechten and Dianthus Armeria , Rough dandelions , field chickweed , Aira praecox , Nelkenhaferschmiele and mice Wicke find. The area of ​​the waterworks is mainly covered with trees. In addition, there is a small-scale mosaic of semi-ruderal grass and perennial corridors as well as heather clove sand-lean lawn.

The occurrence of skylark , cuckoo and green woodpecker are noteworthy . Furthermore, numerous ground beetles with an above-average biodiversity, butterflies , grasshoppers and amphibians are native to the nature reserve .

A part of the area of ​​the nature reserve can be used as a leisure facility or for a trailer colony. A trailer colony, which was previously located on a wasteland by the traffic jam between the old city harbor and Oldenburg train station , moved to the designated area in spring 2014.
