description

The 350  hectare nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 205 is located southeast of the Bornhorst district of Oldenburg . 340 hectares of the nature reserve are in the urban area of Oldenburg - east of the A 29 motorway and north of the Hunte and 10 hectares in the Wesermarsch district.

With its extensive meadows and pastures, it preserves a typical section of the Hunte lowlands. The humid grasslands are of great importance as a breeding area for wild birds threatened by the population and as a resting area for migrating geese, ducks and swans.
