Alfonso de Alba (born April 16, 1985 ) is a Mexican ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Lomas Verdes again since 2014.

Career

Alfonso de Alba began his career as a hockey player with Lomas Verdes. When the semi-professional league Mexicana Élite was founded in 2010 , he moved to the Aztec Eagle Warriors , one of the four founding clubs of the league. With the team from Mexico City he finished second in the league's premiere season and lost in the playoffs in two games against the Teotihuacan Priests , the eventual champions. In 2014 he returned to Lomas Verdes.

International

For Mexico, de Alba took part in the U18 World Cup in 2003 in Division III and the U20 World Cup in Division III in 2002 , 2004 and 2005 and Division II in 2003 .

In the adult division, de la Garma made his debut for Mexico at the 2004 Division III World Cup when he was voted the tournament's best goalkeeper. Also in 2005 , when the Central Americans were promoted to Division II at their home tournament in Mexico City , he played in Division III. He himself contributed to this with the best catch quota and the lowest average goal against and was consequently voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament. At the 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 World Championships , when he had the lowest percentage of goals conceded in the tournament, 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , when he again had the lowest percentage of goals against, in 2017 and 2018 he was in Division II in the box. He was also on the ice at the 2014 Pan-American ice hockey tournament, in which he and his team took second place. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , 2014 in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang .
