Aloys Wagner

Franz Aloys Wagner (born April 18, 1771 in Jagstzell in the prince provostie Ellwangen ; † June 2, 1837 in Ellwangen ; also Franz Alois Wagner ) was a German Catholic clergyman.

Life

Aloys Wagner studied theology at the University of Dillingen and heard lectures from Johann Michael Sailer , Joseph von Weber and Patritius Benedikt Zimmer .

On February 4, 1794 he was ordained priest in Würzburg and he performed chaplain services in the following two years .

In 1796 he started teaching at the high school in Ellwangen (today: Peutinger-Gymnasium Ellwangen ), but already two years later, on January 20, 1798, he became pastor in the community of Stimpfach . On June 18, 1806, while retaining his position, he was appointed dean of the Bühlertann regional chapter ; Associated with this was the school supervision as district school inspector for Crailsheim , Dinkelsbühl and Feuchtwangen since March 3, 1809 .
