Alperen Acet (born April 2, 1998 in Nazilli ) is a Turkish high jumper .
Athletic career
Alperen Acet gained his first international experience at the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where he was eliminated with a 2.00 m qualification. He then took part in the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing and did not start there in the B final. The following year he finished fourth at the World Youth Championships in Cali with 2.14 m. In 2016 he won the bronze medal behind the Italian Eugenio Meloni and Carlos Rojas from Spain at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Tunis with a skipped 2.08 m . He then reached the finals at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he finished twelfth with 2.14 m. At the Islamic Solidarity Games 2017 in Baku he finished fifth with 2.19 m and then finished fourth at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto with a height of 2.22 m. In 2018 he won the bronze medal again at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo with 2.16 m, this time behind the two Italians Christian Falocchi and Stefano Sottile . In addition, he took part in the European Championships in Berlin for the first time , where he finished fifth with a 2.24 m jump.
In 2019 he retired at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 2.21 m in qualification and then won the silver medal behind Bulgarian Tichomir Ivanov at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 2.24 m . Before that, he finished seventh at the European Games in Minsk with a height of 2.20 m. Shortly afterwards he reached ninth place with 2.11 m at the U23 European Championships in Gävle, Sweden .
In 2019, Acet was the Turkish champion in the high jump outdoors and 2020 in the hall.
