Alpha to Omega was one of the Bavarian television usually as part of the Space Night broadcast television program . The content was a conversation between the astrophysicist Harald Lesch and the Catholic theologian and priest Thomas Schwartz on a theological-philosophical topic.
Presentation
Lesch, himself a Protestant Christian, often brought scientific aspects into the discussions, while Schwartz argued from the theological perspective. Lesch usually also took on the role of moderator and asked the theologian Schwartz questions. Usually the talks ended in a conciliatory way.
The show proved to be entertaining and at ease, but was deliberately kept quiet, which is also demonstrated by the choice of locations (unhektische environments such as museums or nature reserves) and the conversational styles of both players (who are also personal friends) as indicated by quiet camera work using a steadycam and a few cuts .
During their conversation, in which they sometimes also addressed the viewer directly, Lesch and Schwartz walked leisurely through the location and sometimes stopped to explain terms in more detail or to include elements of the environment in the program.
The theme music was taken from an instrumental passage from Coldplay's Clocks song .
