Alphonse Paul Joseph Marie Simil (born June 14, 1839 in Nîmes , † in August 1916 ) was a French architect .

Life

Simil attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris until 1864 , where he was a student of Charles Laisné and Henri Révoil . In 1874 he became an employee of the Commission des monuments historiques for the Orne department , as well as the arrondissements of Bayeux and Mantes , and later of Soissons . In 1910 he received the order for the cathedral of Sées . He is also known for the restoration of the churches of Taverny , Pontoise , Mantes , Étreham , Formigny , l'Aigle , Ryes and Dives-sur-Mer and the keep of Chambois (Orne) . He worked with the organ builder Aristide Cavaillé-Coll for numerous organ brochures ; her most famous project was a design for the organ of St. Peter's Basilica . In 1912 he stopped working.

Simil was the father of Abel Simil, who was born in Nîmes, was his pupil and also became an architect. They were registered at 28 Boulevard Saint Germain in Paris.
