Altenfeld is a district of the city of Gersfeld (Rhön) in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda . The village is west of Gersfeld in the Rhön .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1048.

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent municipality Altenfeld in the wake of was municipal reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city Gersfeld incorporated . For the district of Altenfeld, as for the other incorporated, formerly independent municipalities, a local district with a local advisory board and local chief was set up according to the Hessian municipal code.
